Zentap gives you an opportunity to configure SSL for your custom domain to keep sensitive information encrypted. We do not host any SSL certificates provided by any 3rd party SSL providers on our servers as it is not secure, that is why we cannot generate a CSR code to enable SSL.
But don’t panic!
Once you’ve connected your own domain to your Zentap site, all you need to do is:
- Head to Domain App on your Dashboard.
- Toggle the switch for 'SSL via Zentap'.
- And finally, enable 'HTTP to HTTPS' option, only when your domain becomes available under https, to force automatic HTTPs redirection.
That means, you’ll provide secure and reliable connection to your site visitors and your Domain will start with https, not http.
You may probably ask how much you owe us? No worries, you don’t anything as it’s completely free.
While if you don’t want to make use of this advantage, we suggest you making sure to set up your CNAME with a DNS provider that supports SSL, like Cloudflare.
How to setup SSL with Cloudflare?
In order to route your web traffic through the Cloudflare network you need to change your original nameservers to the Cloudflare nameservers.
Follow the steps below:
Step 1: First and foremost, sign up for Cloudflare and make note of your nameservers.
You can find the Cloudflare name servers for your domain on your Cloudflare dashboard under Overview.
Tip: Not sure how to update your nameservers?
Please keep in mind, that all the domain registrars out there have some differences. We recommend contacting your registrar's support center for the most accurate information.
Step 2: Next, go to the Cloudflare Dashboard, move to the ‘Crypto’ section and change SSL to ‘Full’. Please double check not to select ‘Flexible’ option, as this may result in an invalid SSL certificate.
Step 3: Scroll down the Crypto page and enable the 'Always use HTTPS' function.
Note that, it may take up to 24 hours for the name server information to propagate. While status 'Active' indicates your domain is properly set up to run through Cloudflare.
Step 5: Once you've set up your Custom Domain through Cloudflare, go to Domain App>Domain Settings of your website and switch 'SSL via Zentap' option on to permit SSL protocol. We also recommend enabling the force redirection from 'HTTP to HTTPS'.
That’s it. Your custom domain should be fully secured and ready to go. Your Zentap website visitors will see the green lock icon in their browser to assure that the site is secure.
